I've figured out some things, so if you have any question, I may be able to help~ :D
What kind of PMD editor do you have? I have the Japanese PMD editor, and if you have English I may not be of much help.
Recoloring models::
1) Click on the 4th tab, and you should see a list of numbers, and blocks of color on the side once you click it.
2) Open up a tab at the top, where it has the 'T' and those stuff.
3) It'll have a few color blocks, click on the one which you think is the appropriate color for a part of the model.
4) There should be 3 blocks on the right now. Those will help with the color.
5) The first one is about the color itself. The base. Change that one.
6) The middle one is how the shininess looks on the character. When the lighting is on. Don't touch that. It will screw how the lighting goes on it. D:
7) The lastone is the hue on it. If you change that to the same as the top, it will make the color bright. This one can be used as a shading, to make it look realistic[ish].
There are more things about it, I will create some touritals on my friend's computer. Just in case I wasn't clear :3
